Any of Ratzinger’s books, if you take them slowly, will change the way you see life and religio the way of spirituality.

This book is based on Guardini’s earlier work of the same name, The Spirit of the Liturgyalthough from my brief perusal of that document they are substantially different. For regular Mass-goers, the last three parts, but especially the very last part my favorite will have you nodding or wagging your head.
The Spirit of the Liturgy
The stuff about cosmology and the liturgy is facinating. Although he clearly comes from Catholic perspective, this book is general enough that can be used and appreciated by all Christians who hold to the importance of Liturgy. Pope Benedict’s book on the liturgy is a must-read really for any Catholic, and I would also recommend it to Protestants as well, or even ratzingger who want to understand just exactly what worship is about.

The Choice Edith Eger. Wonderful book that really gets to the heart of Catholic liturgy as God-focused not human-focused. Here, he speaks of the spirit of the traditional liturgy, and debates the trends that followed the liturgical renewal after the Second Vatican Council.
